As a young boy 8-10 years old growing up in San Francisco in a neighborhood called Potrero Hill and the mission district my friends and I were playing in a vacant lot on Carolina st. I heard what I thought was even at such a young age was just some extraordinary music coming from the garage of a house across the street. So I walked over and peaked into cracked open garage door and seen a group of guys playing this music. A young Carlos Santana looked over at me peering through the door and asked me if I liked the music.? I replied yes it sounded great. Then I asked him what was the name of your band? And he replied we’re The Santana blues band. What an amazing memory, I’ll cherish it forever.
