Peter Gric (Czech-Austrian, b. 1968).
"Synchronization II" / 2011.
Acrylic on fiberboard, 70 x 60 cm.
Another surreal and symbolic representation by Gric of high-technology and biology coming together.
(See comments section for some detail.)
"The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed." —Carl Gustav Jung
Gric's art consists of a combination of biomechanical surrealism, and futuristic landscapes and architecture. There is a strong science fiction aesthetic evident in his work, and his primary influence stems from the original Surrealists and especially the Visionary & Fantastic Realism artists that followed, e.g. Ernst, de Chirico, Fuchs, Giger, Beksiński, Schwertberger, Brauer, etc.
(Re-post, previously in the first "Genre Art" album, Aug. 2016.)
